History of Heather Kim Rodriguez

Heather Kim Rodriguez grew up in Las Vegas, Nevada. At four she began studying piano, singing and writing. While still in elementary school she bought the classic Heart album Little Queen and began a love affair with rock music. Armed with the knowledge that girls can rock, she added that to her mirror and hairbrush repertoire and began digging through her older siblings' records in search of other classic rock gems.

Heavily influenced by gospel music she would sit on the front porch captivated by the energy of the music coming from the gospel tent revivals, which would set up a block from her house every summer.

Her first solo vocal performance was in 6th grade for a school event. From that moment she was hooked on live performance and began studying Ballet and Jazz, performing with her Dance team, often at UNLV Rebel basketball games.

In High School she was hand picked for the exclusive 16-voice High School pop vocal/dance ensemble Fame and performed regularly all over Las Vegas.
At fifteen she began to study voice formally in operatic, classical and pop styles.

She majored in Classical Vocal Performance at UNLV, dabbled in percussion, drums and piano and landed her first "professional" gig doing Singing Telegrams. Though this was starting at the very bottom rung of the entertainment ladder (well..almost) she got great experience performing impromptu, armed only with a kazoo and a siren whistle as different characters in various questionable locations: gas stations, restaurants, airports, bars, offices...

She was often seen showing up at University Choir rehearsals straight from a Singing Telegram still in costume, Carmen Miranda being everyone's favorite, complete with the fruit headdress. She performed as a classical vocal soloist, in Jazz Vocal Ensemble and as the lead singer of a Jazz-Fusion band called Desperately Seeking Fusion, with her own band and as a freelance singer with other bands (Johnny Clark, The Tribe, The Look, Newport, etc..) around the Las Vegas area for the next few years. Appearances including: The Shark Club, Fremont, The Dunes, Sam's Town Gold River, The Imperial Palace, Skinny Dugan's, Alexis Park, The Aladdin, Tramp's, Barbary Coast, The Maxim, The Fiesta, Buffalo Bills, The Luxor, Bally's and others.

She did a stint as a professional songleader for the Church of Christ Scientist in Boulder City, Nevada and for the Holy Family Catholic Church in Las Vegas, Nevada. Established in her church gigs, she began to be frequently requested as a guest gospel soloist at churches of different denominations all over the Las Vegas Valley.

During her senior year in college she landed her first gig as principal singer in a Las Vegas production show, Xtacy, at the El Rancho Hotel on the Las Vegas Strip where she also was commissioned to write the title theme finale for the show.

Upon taking an art photography class as an elective, she was offered and accepted a full ride ART Department scholarship from there going on to be artistic contributor, Board of Directors member and original recording artist for The New Works Project Dance Company.

She performed as Mary Magdalene in Jesus Christ Superstar, Once On This Island, The Wall, and Sunday In The Park With George in the Bally's and Tropicana Main Showrooms in Las Vegas for Golden Rainbow.

Other commissions and studio work include original lyric writing, music, vocals and voice over work for production shows, local television and radio commercials and for other original recording artists.

In 1996 she formed 70's-80's cover band FUNKYTOWN as a possible financial vehicle to start her original recording project and performed with it in Las Vegas until 1999. Between always training new members, choreographing the project, costume design, booking, and managing band politics, Heather realized she was no closer to starting her studio project than before. In 1999 faced with having to hire and retrain two new front girls, she dropped the name Funkytown and the 70's-80's theme and booked the band under her own name as the only front person, hoping to buy herself creative time, working the next two years in local venues such as The Luxor, The Venetian, The Maxim, The Gold Coast, The Barbary Coast, Bally's and others. But by late 2000 she still had not found the time she needed for her original project so she began doing freelance casual work (show up with mike, collect check, go home) and locked herself in the studio.

A professional singer for 20 years; Heather Kim Rodriguez was suddenly struck with the incurable vocal disorder Spasmodic Dysphonia after a devastating emotional trauma. Told by traditional medical experts that there was no cure, she refused to give in & began pursuing alternative methods. This journey of a lifetime led to the total recovery & miraculous healing of her voice; & planted her firmly on her path to reclaiming & developing her Psychic & Mediumistic gifts as well as discovering her abilities as a Healing Medium & a passion & gift for facilitating the healing of others.

That journey has led her to working with others to improve their lives, partnering with David Caren to create a unique project of spoken word affirmation and sound to create shifts not only on conscious levels, but also deep on the subconscious levels to amplify the affirmations.

Heather Kim Rodriguez is also a trained Spiritualist Medium, Clairvoyant, Reiki Master/Teacher, Cranio-Sacral/Somato Emotional Release Therapist, Life Coach, Hypnotherapist, Trance Channel & Healing Medium.

As a child Medium raised in a Christian home, she was familiar with the Spirit Guidance & Divine Protection she was taught by the church, but found limited resources there to guide her through more extreme Spirit or Psychic Phenomena she was experiencing like; encounters with Earthbound Spirits, Mediumistic Dream Messaging, seeing Auras, sensing & feeling other’s emotions & physical pains, Past Life Recall & Out-Of-Body Experiences. As a result, at age 12, she quietly began researching Dream-Work, Parapsychology, Mythology, Paranormal Phenomena & Comparative Religion; on a quest to control & understand her gifts.

Now, a lifetime scholar & expert in the field of Metaphysics, Spirit Rescue & Transition, Comparative Religion, Theology, Dream Interpretation & Mythology, she is passionate about helping others understand & control their gifts. She is also the author of Goddess Unchained, is working on her latest books Pathways To Ascension, & The Medium’s Survival Guide & is pursuing Doctoral Studies in Natural Healing & Transpersonal Psychology.

About David Caren

David Caren is a Master Hypnotherapist, Past Life Regression Therapist, Reiki Master/Teacher, Cranio-Sacral/Somato Emotional Release Therapist, Life Coach, Clairsentient, Conscious Channel & Healing Medium.

As a child, David’s ability to be a Conscious Channel would spontaneously manifest while speaking to family members. It seemed natural to channel spirit messages so he never questioned that it was anything “out of the ordinary”. When he was a young teen, he had a frightening Near-Death Experience which served as a Shamanic Opening that accelerated his gifts as a Medium but burdened him with questions & fear which were compounded by the unexpected, tragic death of his brother a few years later. At this point, he was catapulted into years of depression & trial as he struggled to reconcile his gifts while overcoming grief. Through this dark time, he was guided to The Japanese Healing Art of Reiki. This discovery helped him reconcile his gifts & release grief while awakening him to his calling to be a guide for others who struggle through emotions that block them from fully engaging in a joyous life.

This quest also sparked his interest in Hypnotherapy to discover methods of accessing deep levels of the subconscious for Healing. As a result, David is now expert in guiding others to find, resolve & release deep levels of fear hidden in the subconscious mind. Because of his interest in the effects of Primal Brain Response in human behavior, he is currently working on a book based on his methods to overcome primitive urges when it is contrary to one’s higher desires. He is also completing Doctoral work in Metaphysics & Psychology.

David’s journey brought him to Las Vegas where he met his wife & business partner, Heather Rodriguez. They merged their two Healing Practices in 2008 to create Zen Rose Garden.

Zen Rose Garden is dedicated to the healing, empowerment & self-realization of the individual on all levels. Through a unique combination of Intuitive & Healing Gifts, David & Heather as a team create a Holistic Healing Modality they call Body-Mind-Spirit Integration, utilizing a wide variety of Healing Techniques which combine to assist & optimize their clients’ processes of releasing fears, healing & self-empowerment.
